MIDDAY is on a mission to transform our dance sector to become more vibrant, just, and interconnected by cultivating a new, diverse generation of dance leaders.
Our BIPOC-led organization works diligently to make this a reality —inside of MIDDAY’s programs and operations, and beyond — by centering artists of color at every level of our organization. But we cannot do it without you!
Read more about the historical and cumulative effects of racism on people of color’s health, financial, environmental, and communal wellbeing at the bottom of our BIPOC Mentorship Program page, and note our BIPOC team is vulnerable to these impacts as well.
Your ongoing support helps us fulfill our mission to collectively
create far-reaching and long-lasting change.
MIDDAY was originally formed to help novice contemporary dance teachers come into their own as creative and administrative arts leaders without financial burden, and buoying them with the strength of community support. Since then, our work has grown to impact Boston's entire creative culture, bringing contemporary dance out of the ivory tower and into everyday life.We have always created deeply solutions-based resources from the untapped riches around us. During the 2020 Pandemic, our society seemed to learn not only that everything is interconnected, but that arts and creativity matter: as a balm, as an aspiration, and as a tool to imagine and build new futures. MIDDAY's values and methods primed us to shine even during that time and come into our own.

Help Support MIDDAY Programs:
Founded in 2015, MIDDAY Movement Series (“MIDDAY”) is a BIPOC-led grassroots initiative cultivating a new, diverse generation of dance leaders through professional development, mentorship, and advocacy. MIDDAY harnesses the power of dance and dance artists to drive individual and cultural transformation. In the precarious societal and political landscape ahead, MIDDAY’s main areas of focus (diversity, equity and justice; open access instead of privatization; and using the arts as a tool for narrative change, liberation, and innovative futures) are under attack.
We know we can do this together!
