WHY JOIN?

At MIDDAY, we are seeding a dance sector that prioritizes equity and justice; open access over privatization; and sees dance as a tool for narrative change, liberation, and innovative futures.

However, in today’s sociopolitical landscape, our community, sector, and society are at a critical point to take a stand. We must act together --and strategically-- if we hope to further our dreams of creating a world where dance artists can thrive. At the same time, we know that dance artists struggle to plug into civic actions, activism, and advocacy due to financial burdens, time scarcity, and lack of knowledge and resources, especially BIPOC and marginalized artists.

The Artist Impact Circle aims to address these issues by providing professional dance artists with resources, community, and strategy to create change.

The AIC also importantly helps provide MIDDAY staff (all working dance artists) with more administrative spaciousness to focus on collective action and amplifying the change we want to see.

As an AIC member, your benefits include:

• Access to all of MIDDAY’s regularly programmed dance classes (Shuffle, Short Series, and Ongoing classes);

• Deep discounts on guest classes, performances, consultations, and events;

• Special invitations to partnered events;

• Impact MIDDAY’s advocacy priorities, plans, and resources, including mutual aid and databases;

• Access to MIDDAY’s research and a collectively developed roster of actions and engagements;

• Access to a community engaging in collective action representing the local dance sector.

Please note that, although member benefits include access to MIDDAY's classes and programs, the Artist Impact Circle membership is not the same as a class card or class subscription. Instead, membership is meant to:

1) provide dance professionals with financial spaciousness to better engage in advocacy efforts, and

2) establish a critical mass and collective of dance professionals focused on improving our current world.
