SHORT SERIES
3- to 8-Week Sessions
Wednesdays @ 12-2pm // $5 first time, $10 drop-in

Midday Movement Short Series are month-long sessions led by teachers ready to engage in creating deeper connections to their pedagogy. NEW THIS SEASON, Short Series will include classes in somatic and other movement methods.
APRIL//MAY SHORT SERIES: Exploring Movement through the Alexander Technique with Helen Manzella
Helen Manzella is a movement educator and dance artist who received her BA in Dance & Healing Performance Arts from Lesley University in 2014. She is currently completing her 3rd year of a 1,600 hour training course from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee in Boston, MA to become a Certified Alexander Technique Teacher.
Helen teaches her students transformational movement and embodied awareness set to music from around the world. In her classes, Helen will draw upon the principles of the Alexander Technique* to help dancers deepen their quality of movement by becoming aware of their internal and external support and by releasing unnecessary patterns of tension that restrict the natural expressiveness and freedom of each dancer’s personal movement language.
*Alexander Technique is a re-educational method that teaches students to become aware of self-limiting habitual patterns of movement, thought and behavior. Through gentle hands on touch students receive sensory feedback that guides them into a new awareness of themselves; allowing for new choices, balance, and ease to emerge by re-awakening mind/body wholeness.
