MISSION + VISION

MISSION
Midday Movement Series (“MIDDAY”) is a grassroots initiative cultivating a new generation of dance leaders. For dance-lovers who believe movement can ignite individual purpose and community spirit, Midday Movement Series empowers a new generation of dance artists to become vibrant cultural stewards and innovators. Founded by Marissa Molinar, a POC late-comer to contemporary dance with a background in environmental science, MIDDAY’s resources and programs are based in the idea that creativity sparks evolution, and deliberate interconnection spawns success.

VISION
We envision a future where dance drives integrity, exploration, fierce individuality, and fierce community.
We envision a future in which dance artists are valued as cultural stewards and instigators of newness.
We believe movement belongs to everyone and in every realm of our culture, and together we’re moving to make it a reality.
FOR DEDICATED DANCERS, Midday Movement Series offers a space to connect to an engaged community of dance artists committed to galvanizing our sector by empowering ourselves and each other. Check out our schedule for class info + registration.

FOR EMERGING TEACHERS, Midday Movement Series offers a space to craft their movement style and hone their teaching skills while learning to understand and use their individuality as a superpower for broader impact and change. From one-time workshops and Shuffle Cohort options for new teachers, short series options for more experienced teachers, to ongoing positions for those ready to teach weekly classes, MIDDAY aims to support new and developing teachers and pave the way for new movement leaders. Check out our current faculty or contact us if you're interested in teaching for Midday Movement Series!
